WASHINGTON, D.C. — (RealEstateRama) — Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded two grants totaling $764,627 to the Park River Municipal Airport Authority and the Watford City Airport Authority. The funds are awarded as follows:

• Park River Municipal Airport Authority – $464,627 – To fund the construction of a hangar building to help W C Skjerven Field Airport generate additional revenue.
• Watford City Airport Authority – $300,000 – To fund an environmental assessment to evaluate any potential environmental impacts related to the proposed runway extension for Watford City Municipal Airport.

“In order to make sure that North Dakota’s airports can continue to meet the needs of residents and businesses, it’s important to invest in programs that help to ensure their safety and operability,” Hoeven said. “Today’s grants will support the construction of a hangar building at W C Skjerven Field Airport and an environmental assessment at Watford City, which will help to do just that.”
