WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 25, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations and Agriculture Committees, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development has awarded two grants totaling $910,000 to Benson County to fund improvements to the City of Leeds’ sanitary sewer. Benson County also received a $1.08 million loan to support the project. The funds are made available through USDA’s Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program as well as its Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).

Hoeven also announced that USDA’s Rural Development has approved a loan of $330,000 for Stutsman County to help fund the Stutsman Rural Water District capital improvement and expansion project.

“The period of growth we’re experiencing across North Dakota means that we have a greater demand for services in our rural communities,” Hoeven said. “We’ve been working hard to support growth in the rural parts of our state, and these USDA funds will help fund important water system improvements for Benson and Stutsman Counties.”
