Housing Agency Seeks Public Input on Tax Credit Allocation Plan

BISMARCK/FARGO, NM – August 16, 2008 – (RealEstateRama) — The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) is seeking public input on its 2009 Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Allocation Plan.

Information gathering sessions are scheduled for Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. in the Ft. Totten Room of theState Capitol Building, 600 E Boulevard Ave., Bismarck; and Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. in the 4th Floor Conference Room of the Black Building, 118 Broadway, Fargo.

Administered by the NDHFA on behalf of the federal government, the LIHTC program is the most significant producer of affordable rental housing in North Dakota. These meetings offer the public a chance to comment on the plan that guides the Agency’s yearly allocation of more than $2.3 million in federal tax credits to housing developers.

The public comments will be taken into consideration by the NDHFA in the development of a draft 2009 allocation plan. The draft plan will go through a public hearing process and review by the Agency’s advisory board before final adoption by the Industrial Commission of North Dakota.
