Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota positions for second century of service with new facility.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota will formally open its new statewide headquarters at 3911 20th Avenue South in Fargo, on Monday, June 15, starting at 1:30 p.m. Key officials and agency partners will gather to commemorate the start of the next chapter of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota’s statewide social ministry. Further event details are below.

The agency—initially founded in 1919 as an adoption organization—has a long tradition of charting new growth based on the needs of people living in North Dakota.

From its beginnings as a child placement service provider and re-settler of European refugee children after World War II to its current incarnation as a state leader in affordable housing, behavioral health care, and innovative services for children and seniors, Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota’s focus is always on helping people thrive.

Its new facility is located at the intersection of I29 and I94. The facility includes both staff offices and a spacious conference center, which is available for public use. The Scandinavian-inspired architectural design and color palette within the building honor North Dakota’s heritage, while offering modern, flexible work spaces that allow staff and clients to collaborate easily in a mix of both private and shared spaces.

1:30 p.m. ceremony kicked off by elected officials and Chamber Ambassadors
A building dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, in the facility’s new conference center.

Key elected officials and ambassadors from The Chamber Fargo Moorhead West Fargo will share greetings with the audience. Governor Jack Dalrymple is currently slated to be opening speaker. Guests and donors at the ceremony will be given guided tours of the new facility following the ceremony. Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota CEO Jessica Thomasson and Bishop Terry Brandt of the Eastern North Dakota ELCA Synod—whose offices are co-located at the new building—will serve as hosts at the dedication.

Open house and tours for the general public run from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. on June 15
From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., the public is invited to an open house, which will include guided tours of the building and complimentary sweets and beverages.

Staff from an array of agency programs will guide tour groups of visitors and provide insight on services available to those in the Fargo region from within the building.
Staff will also share information on how to lease the building’s conference facilities for corporate meetings, faith organization gatherings and spiritual retreats, and family events such as weddings and reunions.
