BISMARCK, September 18, 2007 – The North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) recently honored five local real estate agents with Champion of Affordable Housing Awards at the 2007 North Dakota/South Dakota REALTORS® Convention.
“Homeownership is the dream of many North Dakota families,” said Gov. John Hoeven. “Real estate agents help families to achieve this goal through their work with the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency’s FirstHome™ program.”
“Owning a home offers security, stability and a chance to build net worth,” said Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem. “Real estate agents service to NDHFA’s buyers is greatly appreciated, and we thank them for their hard work.”
“Without the expertise of these agents, many families would not know about NDHFA’s programs,” said Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson. “They are the first line of communication, a solid source of information for first-time buyers.”
NDHFA recognized Kathy Hammer of Hammer Realty, Wahpeton; Alma Heid of Century 21 Landmark Realty, Mandan; Doris Hoff of Home & Land Company, Dickinson; Shirley Thomas of Coldwell Banker, Bismarck; and MaDonna Stanford of Valley Realty, Valley City.
The Champion of Affordable Housing Award recipients are judged on their participation in NDHFA’s homeownership programs, and their involvement in locally sponsored affordable housing projects and events.
