Hoeven Announces Additional Flood Protection Infrastructure Funding

Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a more than $1.5 million grant to fund improvements to Cass County’s Lake Shure Bridge to reduce flood-related damages.

Industrial Commission approves distribution of housing grants

The North Dakota Industrial Commission has authorized the distribution of more than $197,000 to organizations statewide through Helping Housing Across North Dakota (Helping HAND). North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) administers the program.

Housing agency increases loan purchase price limit

The Industrial Commission has increased the purchase price limit of North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) homeownership programs from $250,000 to $265,158 in accordance with Internal Revenue Service guidelines

FEMA Updates Cramer on Implementation of Flood Insurance Relief

Today officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) briefed Congressman Kevin Cramer and other members of the Home Protection Caucus on the implementation of the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act of 2014, which Cramer cosponsored. The law retroactively repeals certain rate increases in the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act, allows individuals to receive refunds if incorrectly charged, and expands the scope of the affordability study already required to be conducted by FEMA

Federal Tax Credits Support Affordable Senior Housing

The Industrial Commission announced today that the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) has allocated $2.4 million in federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to five affordable senior housing projects. STATE ADJUSTS HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM INCOME LIMITS

The Industrial Commission has adjusted income limits in state homeownership programs, making more North Dakotans eligible for mortgage loans with below-market interest rates as well as down payment assistance and closing cost assistance.

Rebuilders Loan Numbers Released

Nearly 2,000 families have received or been approved to receive assistance from two funds designated for rebuilding after the 2011 floods by the North Dakota Legislature. The Rebuilders Loan and Supplemental Rebuilders Loan Programs have committed to $51.2 million for 1,946 loans. Of that amount, $47.3 million has been distributed.
