Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded more than $1.4 million in housing grants to 15 housing authorities across North Dakota. The funds are made available through the Public Housing Operating Fund which helps local housing authorities support vulnerable low- and extremely low-income families

Senators John Hoeven (R-N.D.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) announced that President Obama this afternoon signed their Water Heater Efficiency legislation into law. The new law enables rural electric power cooperatives and their members to continue using large, energy-efficient water heaters in “demand response” conservation programs. The measure passed the Senate last month and the House earlier this month.

In its 2014 Annual Report, Bank of North Dakota (BND) reported its 11th consecutive year of record profits, with $111 million in net earnings. Total assets increased from $6.8 billion in 2013 to $7.2 billion in 2014. BND ended the year with capital of $652 million. The state’s return on its investment at the Bank was 18.3 percent

Congressman Kevin Cramer joined a bi-partisan majority of the U.S. House of Representatives to pass S. 535, the Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015 by a voice vote. This legislation protects Grid-Enabled Water Heaters from U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations ultimately benefiting electric utility customers in North Dakota.

The North Dakota Industrial Commission has authorized North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) to distribute more than $200,000 to organizations statewide through the Helping Housing Across North Dakota (Helping HAND) program.
