Heitkamp Announces Significant Federal Funding for Bismarck Housing Assistance Program

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 23, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, today announced nearly $300,000 in federal funding to provide housing assistance to low-income Bismarck residents.

“Because of our state’s recent population growth, quality housing is becoming increasingly challenging to find, especially for low-income families,” said Heitkamp. “These federal funds will equip North Dakotans with resources and opportunities that will help them find safe and affordable housing.”

Bismarck will be receiving $287,795 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which provides affordable housing options and improves economic opportunities for low-income and moderate-income residents. The funds are authorized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
