Minot, ND - September 6, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Senators Kent Conrad and John Hoeven led a group of community officials and representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today to examine the progress being made to build temporary housing for those who lost their homes in the Souris River flood. The group inspected a temporary housing site on the east side of Minot before viewing student housing being built at Minot State University.

Tax Credits Advanced for Affordable Housing in Minot

BISMARCK, ND - September 6, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- As a part of the state’s flood recovery efforts, the Industrial Commission of North Dakota has approved a plan by the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) to make an advance commitment of up to $650,000 of its 2012 low income housing tax credits (LIHTC) to build or buy and rehabilitate rental units for lower-income households in flood-ravaged Minot. This advance commitment would be 25 percent of the state’s 2012 credits.

Applicants Must Stay in Touch with FEMA to Continue Temporary Housing Assistance
