Heitkamp Announces Federal Funding for Housing and Assistance Programs in Grand Forks

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 28, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S Senator Heidi Heitkamp, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, announced $345,707 in federal funding to provide affordable housing options to low-income families in Grand Forks. Specifically, these funds will be used to renovate housing, assist in providing economic opportunity, and revitalize neighborhoods to ultimately provide safe and affordable housing.

“In North Dakota, we have seen the cost of homes skyrocket in recent years,” said Heitkamp. “The economic growth our state has experienced has brought many opportunities, but has also caused housing shortages making it difficult for families at each end of our state find a place within their budget to call home. These federal funds will help to make the difference for many hard working families by providing sage and affordable housing.”

These funds are authorized by the Community Development Block Grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
